4 Must-Have items for a Bohemain Wardrobe

Something in luxurious velvet

A long Kimono-esque Jacket

something in white crochet and fringe

All pics via Bohemian Blissful Tumblr
A Bohemain Style includes a few staples that can be thrown over your classics to give it that eclectic quotient. Here I have listed 4 KEY pieces to turn your regular outfit into a Bohemain Creation:
  1. Velvet is a fabric that is luxurious and rich, and if you can find something in jewel tones that would make it even better. Here is a gorgeous cropped jacket layered over a simple white Tee. Blogger Amanda Malm has totally conquered the Velvet Jacket look in this blog post I did earlier. Velvet says the Seventies like no other!
  2. Kimonos are all over the radar right now and if you can get your hands on a longish jacket with contrasting prints and colors, even better. Here are a couple more Kimonos featured on the blog earlier. I love what Rihanna is wearing here - the key is to keep what you are wearing under it very simple e.g. a Tshirt dress, tank and denim cutoffs...you get the idea.
  3. White Crochet and Fringe - both in one garment! you couldn't get luckier. Anything with fringe with make you stand out. Its got so much movement that it instantly draws the viewers eye in.
  4. Caftans have come back in a big way. And this one here in white lace is absolutely ethereal. Another way to wear a Caftan is to chop it and wear it like a mini dress - totally modernizes the look.
Sparrow Lyn stocks many velvet jackets, Kimonos and Caftans to add to your Bohemian Wardrobe. You can view the whole collection HERE.

Why a Bohemian Jacket should be a staple in your wardrobe

Visit the Store for more Bohemian Jackets
By now everyone and their dog knows I have a weakness for Jackets and that explains why there are so many in my shop. I can't help it - they are such a versatile piece that can be thrown over anything, taking a simple Tee and cutoffs to another height altogether.

Just adding a couple more Jackets to the shop - Check my Jacket Collection HERE.

How To Find Your Style On Pinterest

The Style and Fashion that I like is very specific - its edgy, bit Rock n Roll and lots of black. For that reason I cannot stay on Pinterest for long as the fashion there is too 'Prom-my' as I refer to it - you know - all pretty dresses and bright colors and things I would never buy for myself.

I follow only certain Pinterest boards created by other similar style minded souls. I have bookmarked them in my folders and find myself going to them pretty often for inspiration and ideas. So here are the ones that are my Go-to boards - tell me if you like them.

Lisa Bonet Muse

One of my Muses is Lisa Bonet........have loved her from the Bill Cosby days of watching the show umpteen times. Her style is so well put together, her hair (have always loved dreads) and that awesome tattoo on her back. I mean seriously ! gurl has it ! how cool would it be to see her in one of my shop staples....like maybe one of my Velvet Jackets.

How to inject Bohemian Style in your look

Pic via Blue is in Fashion Blog

A staple of the BOHEMIAN STYLE is a very unique jacket, something that makes you stand out from the crowd around you. One way to do this is with a Military Jacket which is one of my favorite ways to amp up an outfit. Jackets are my Kryptonite - I cannot resist buying one any chance I get, and my shop is stocked high with some pretty awesome Bohemian Jackets. Above are some great examples of unique pieces that can be found on Etsy or Ebay.

Another way is to take a regular black jacket and add Military patches in your own DIY style. Blogger MyTenida has done a very cool version herself on her blog by adding some Ebay patches to her jacket making it personalized and very unique.
